From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft impacted terrain at a nose down attitude wings level. Pilot was fatally injured. Awaiting witness statements describing circumstances leading up to event.

Based on witness statements are the following conclusions.

The pilot was flying over knik river valley south of Friday creek. His friends and brother were 4 wheeling in the area and were witness to the accident. The pilot did a flyover , then came around and did a touch and go on the sandbar/riverbed south of Friday creek. As the pilot gained altitude to approximately 200 feet he attempted a left hand bank and was caught by a gust of wind. The gust caused the aircraft to bank too sharply and the pilot lost control of the aircraft.
