What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The aircraft was conducting an aerial wildlife survey under contract with marine corps base camp pendleton. Three passengers of the game wardens office were onboard and had assigned duties in connection with the aerial survey.

While transitioning from a southerly to a northerly heading, the aircraft made a left turn. Shortly after leveling on the northerly heading, the aircraft contacted powerlines at approximately 50-75 feet AGL and 25-30 knots.
The aircraft made an emergency landing on a dirt road directly beneath the point of contact with the powerlines. The landing was made without further incident.
Damage to the aircraft was superficial and limited to the upper/forward cowling just beneath the rotormast and control rods.
No aircraft occupants were injured in the incident.
