From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft had just come out of maintenance and privacy data omitted was performing a maintenance flight. Over the previous two weeks a vg kit was installed, skis were installed, the alternator was replaced and a new throttle cable was installed due to it sticking. After a thorough investigation it appears the aircraft was mechanically sound with no issues pertaining to the maintenance that was performed. Careful examination of the wreckage and GPS information indicates the aircraft stalled with insufficient altitude to recover, struck a tree with the right wing, sustained too much damage to continue flight, and struck the ground.

As the FAA filed it

THE AIRCRAFT HAD JUST COME OUT OF MAINTENANCE AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PERFORMING A MAINTENANCE FLIGHT.
