What happened

On December 9, 2016 at approximately 18:10 CST, N4218 departed from poplar grove airport (C77) enroute to schaumburg regional airport (06C). At 18:19 CST the plane was lost from radar. The Aircraft did not have a filed flight plan nor was in radio contact with ATC. On December 10 at 7:30 CST mchenry county police department was notified of plane wreckage observed in a field north of the intersection of meyers and pleasant grove roads.

ON DECEMBER 9, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 18:10 CST, N4218 DEPARTED FROM POPLAR GROVE AIRPORT (C77) ENROUTE TO SCHAUMBURG REGIONAL AIRPORT (06C). AT 18:19 CST THE PLANE WAS LOST FROM RADAR. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE A FILED FLIGHT PLAN NOR WAS IN RADIO CONTACT WITH ATC. ON DECEMBER 10 AT 7:30 CST MCHENRY COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED OF PLANE WRECKAGE OBSERVED IN A FIELD NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF MEYERS AND PLEASANT GROVE ROADS.
