From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Operator landed at remote strip and dropped off passengers. During take off hit a snow drift that launched aircraft into the air with a loud bang. Operator returned to Willow and upon landing noticed aircraft listing. Stopped aircraft on taxiway once clear of runway and had mechanic look at aircraft, brace landing gear, and then tow it to hangar. Airframe tube with oleo strut mounts broke next to mounts. Only after removing floor boards was the mechanic able to determine the extent of the damage. This is why it was reported two weeks after date of incident.
