From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During landing on runway 5, right wing impacted runway, veered right at a 45 degree angle, and impacted airport perimeter tree line.

Student pilot (GX-1818348) stated that while in traffic pattern around mnv, AWOS reported landing favorable on runway 23. Pilot however stated that the windsock showed that landing was favorable on runway 5. Pilot then stated that during touch down, a crosswind picked up his left wing causing aircraft to veer right off the runway into trees.

Mnv AWOS data was recovered and indicated that, at 13:30 EST, wind direction and velocity were 350 degrees at 14 knots.
