From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This office and myself were notified at approximately 1430 12/30/2016 of an incident just off the end of the runway in a field at Arlington Municipal Airport. Aircraft had landed in the field and the right gear had collapsed after landing. Pilot reported he had test flown the aircraft the previous day with no issues. The test flights were for some recent major engine work. All systems indicated normal during the second part of test flight. He had purposely stayed close to the airport during the flights. At approximately 4000MSL after about 17 minutes of flight he lost power. Engine shut down and he had no electrical power. He proceeded to go through power loss check list procedures as he had plenty of time. He could not get the engine restarted. He went through the checklist again. He still could not get the engine restarted. After lowering the gear he realized he might not be able to make the runway so he made the choice at that time to land in the farmers field. He completed his emergency checklist and landed the aircraft with no injuries to anyone. No damage to anything other than the right hand landing gear side brace broke when the left gear caught in some soft muddy area.
