From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 06, 2017, about 1240 central daylight time, N4982R, a 1998 super king air B350, experienced a collapse of the right main landing gear during taxi, after landing on runway 34R at the alliance airport (kafw), Fort Worth, TX.

The aircraft flew to waco regional airport (kact) for approach training. While conducting approaches and after two successful gear extension and retraction sequences with no incidents with the pilot flying from the right seat, the third visual pattern at kact resulted with the right gear down and locked light not being illuminated. Instructor retracted the gear again and crew read the abnormal gear extension checklist, then returned to kafw on an IFR flight plan with the instructor taking command of the aircraft from the right seat.

Upon reaching kafw, the crew requested to perform a flyby of the control tower to verify landing gear position. The tower confirmed that the gear appeared to be in the down position. After touchdown on runway 34L, aircraft completed landing rollout and decelerated to walking speed. The right main landing gear collapsed when the pilot initiated a turn on taxiway e. the right propeller struck the ground and aircraft completed almost 270 degrees of turn before coming to a stop. The crew preformed an emergency shutdown of the engines and egressed out of the main cabin door.

As the FAA filed it
