From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a local flight, the engine began to run rough. Pilot pulled carb ice with no change and decided to land in a snow-covered field to diagnose. Landed without incident. Pilot performed a run-up, leaned mixture to clear the plugs, performed a mag check ? Aircraft ran appropriately. Pilot began downhill departure in snow approximately 6-inches-deep (airplane was equipped with 31 inch wheels). Tail lifted at about 30 knots with full flap and power, during ground roll, pulled back on stick. The pilot then experienced gust of tailwind and airplane nosed over.
