From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff from zelienople airport (kpjc), the pilot put the landing gear up and heard a loud bang. The indicator lights showed the right gear in transit. The pilot reset the gear motor circuit breaker and attempted an emergency gear extension with no results. The pilot radioed the ground at Mcville Airport (6P7) and they thought the gear was down but could not determine if it was locked. The pilot held the aircraft off of the runway as long as he could on landing but the right gear collapsed on roll out as the airspeed decreased. Damage to the right gear door, right flap and right gear linkage occurred. A post incident inspection revealed that the right gear retraction fitting (part number 67031-03) tabs had broken off, disconnecting the actuator from the right gear leg.

As the FAA filed it
