From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On February 17, 2017, at or about 21:00 local time the pilot in command of N10VD, a Grumman OV-1 experimental exhibition aircraft, experienced and reported to the Jacksonville Executive Airport (crg), ATCT prior to landing that he had a faulty landing gear indication.

The pilot followed the procedure for a gear unsafe indication and was able to effect a gear safe indication. The pilot then flew by the ATCT several times to obtain a visual check of the landing gear. The ATCT indicated that the landing gear appeared to be down.

After landing on runway 32 with the engine power reduced the main landing gear began retracting and the airplane settled onto the empennage on the runway centerline causing minor damage.

The pilot was current and qualified to fly the OV-1 at the time of the incident. An airman search indicates that the pilot has no record of accidents, incidents, or enforcements.

The reported weather was; kcrg 180153Z 16003KT 10SM clr 13/08 A3006 rmk AO2 SLP179 T01330078 and is not considered to have been a factor.
