From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was on final approach to Cuyahoga County Airport runway 24. Pilot reduced power to idle about 1/4 mile from the end of the runway to adjust the descent rate. When power was applied again the engine did not respond. Aircraft landed hard approximately 100 feet short of runway 24, shearing off the right main landing gear. The aircraft bounced and was briefly airborne before touching back down just west of taxiway alpha 1. Aircraft struck a taxiway light and continued to slide approximately 300 feet before coming to rest in the grass between runway 24 and taxiway alpha.
