From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

April 11, 2017.

P.I.c. stated he began takeoff roll down runway 05 at kapf. At just about rotate speed (120KTS) he saw a pack of coyote's of about 4, running from right to left across the runway in front of the aircraft, he had the nose wheel off the ground as the last one ran right under it. As the plane just began to fly he heard and felt what he thought was the bottom of the main left tire hit the coyote. He advised the tower that he had hit a coyote.

The tower had him contact departure. Upon contact departure he advised he needed to burn off some of the fuel for landing. Departure vectored had him go around until he advised. The flight management system onboard indicated that by flying the full RNAV 5 approach he would be within landing weight. Approach handed him off to the Naples tower. The tower confirmed he had hit a very large coyote and that they had emergency vehicle standing by for his arrival. They cleared him to land runway 05. There were no issues upon landing. He taxed the aircraft to Naples authority ramp. After shut down he met with line man, emergency and maintenance personnel. Upon inspection of the aircraft they found minor damage to the left main landing gear door only no other damage was found upon inspection.
