From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft appeared to have struck the ground with the RH wing short of rnwy 35. Next impact was propeller stuck in the ground with blades broken off from hub and hub broken off of engine. Engine found detached from airframe another 30 ft past prop hub. Wing came to rest upside down and detached from fuselage. Fuselage found resting on top of upside down wing facing 180 degrees opposite of direction of flight. Aircraft appeared to have cartwheeled on attempt to land and started disintegrating and strewing parts and pieces as it tumbled.

There was a post crash fire and much of the center of the wing and cockpit area consumed in fire.

Pilot was fatally injured in crash and fire.
