From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 13, 2017 aircraft N616NG s/n 742WN100 was conducting touch and go takeoff on runway 15 at Driftwood Ranch Airport in weatherford, TX. At approximately 1820 local the aircraft attempted another touch and go. Upon rotation the pilot induced a high pitch up attitide. The left wing stalled causing contact with the ground approximately 15 feet from the right edge of the runway. This caused the nose of the aircraft to pitch down sharply and contact the ground at approximately 3 feet from the right edge of the runway. The aircraft slid along the runway for approximately 60 - 70 feet and coming to a rest pointed 180 degress from its initial takeoff heading. Upon impacting the runway the left wing and left flap were detached from the aircraft. The right wing was substantialy damaged and had been torn from its mounting points but was still attached to the aircraft. Both propeller blades were broken from the proppeler hub. The aircraft suffered substantial damage from the instrument panel forward. The tail was completely broken off at approximately six feet forward of the empanage and was hanging by the flight control cables. Aircraft fuel staining could be seen on the runway around the left wing. The pilot and the passenger sustained serious injuries. No fatalities.

Conducted a phone interview with the PIC on 06/22/2017. In his words he stated that he was conducting a touch and go takoff. The aircraft was producing full power. The aircraft had reached rotate speed. Upon takeoff climb the aircraft experieinced a crosswing from the left side of the aircraft that pushed the aircraft to the right of the runway. Due to the obstacles that were in the area he pulled back on the controls pitching the aircraft nose up to gain altitude. By doing so he put the aircraft into steep nose up attitude that caused the left wing to stall and ultimately casuing the aircraft to contact the ground right of the runway.

As the FAA filed it
