From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the student pilot's conduct of his initial landing while on a long solo cross country from lhm to mod, the pilot made approach and touchdown, the aircraft porpoised, and the nose wheel rim and inner tube disintegrated. The propeller struck the pavement, damaging the tips. The aircraft veered to the left side of the runway, and came to rest nose low on the paved runway surface, with the nose gear fork, axle and wheel bearings resting on the remains of the nose tire. Debris consisting of pavement chunks, dozens of chunks and small pieces of the nose wheel hub, and chunks and pieces of the inner tube were scattered down the runway in a 100 ft x 1000 ft area. The student pilot was not injured.
