From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was operating his experimental aircraft for the purpose of phase 1 testing. He was testing the max gross weight and used 100 lbs less than what should have been the max take off weight for the given conditions and c.g. the pilot aborted at the half way point on the runway and the brakes were not able to stop the aircraft in time and he ran off the runway. The pilot made appropriate calculations. He also had a second qualified pilot on board however had not made appropriate coordination with the richmond FSDO for his operating limitations. He was using the appropriate advisory circular otherwise.
