From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 1, 2017, at 1330 CDT, approximately, a 1968 Aerovodochody deflin, ( L-29), registered to a private owner, landed with the gear retracted on runway 4 at the hale county airport (kpvw). The aircraft was recently purchased and being repositioned to a new home base in tracy, California. The pilot planned to land at the hale county airport (kpvw), for fuel and was approaching the kpvw airport for landing when he was unable to extend the landing gear. The pilot exited traffic pattern and performed the emergency landing gear extension procedure, which was ineffective. The pilot landed with the landing gear retracted. The flight was VFR and operated under title 14 usc part 91. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time, and no VFR flight plan was filed. The aircraft sustained minor damage. The pilot was the sole occupant onboard and was not injured. The flight originated from the lancaster regional airport (klnc), at 1230 local time on July 1, 2017.
