From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft departed from eul, caldwell, ID to sun, Hailey id. The pilot reported aircraft approached sun from the southeast and once the PIC had the airport in sight, he realized that he was too high for the approach. The aircraft quickly lost altitude and was able to lose enough altitude to make the approach but the PIC allowed the aircraft get too slow and needed to add power. The PIC said that the throttles were not matched up and he had to look at the gauges to set the power. When he looked up from setting the power the aircraft had drifted to the right. He stated that at this time the aircraft still required additional power so he added power without looking at the gauges and too much power was added to the left hand engine and the increased the drift to the right. He rolled wings level and he said the nose was pitched a little high. He said the aircraft hit hard and bounced and the right hand wing caught the ground and spun the aircraft sideways causing the gear to collapse.

As the FAA filed it
