From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On long final about 1,500 AGL the pilot heard a bang and a shudder, pilot noticed the oil pressure was about 35 PSI but RPM was still at 2250 RPM.

ATC asked what were his intentions, he then noted the oil pressure was then at zero when he said he was going to land in a field.

Pilot said he retarded the power lever and landed in the field.

Pictures from the recovery company revealed engine failure.

Initial reports from tcm is that the engine exhaust valve caused the damage.
