From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot reported that following an uneventful preflight inspection and engine run-up, he

Began his eastbound takeoff from the private airstrip. As the airplane became airborne, he

Noticed that the airspeed was decreasing and the airplane was not climbing. The pilot said that

He leveled off in ground effect to increase airspeed and verified that the engine was operating at

Full power. The pilot said he attempted to initiate a climb a second time, however, the airplane

Did not react as he expected, and he decided to abort the takeoff and land on the runway.

Subsequently, the airplane overran the departure end of the runway and impacted multiple

Trees before it came to rest upright in an orchard.

As the FAA filed it
