From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed kcdw enroute to kcxy with clear weather and calm winds. After being handed off to harrisburg approach he asked for and received clearance to descend to 5000 feet to clear a cloud layer. When the pilot had the airport in sight he asked for a visual approach to runway 26. He then switched the radios to turn on the runway lights to cxy. He then switched the intercom back to approach frequency. At 4 miles out he tried to contact approach to switch to the common traffic frequency with no response. The pilot started to configure the aircraft for landing and then realized he had bumped a switch for the audio to the headset to off. He then flipped the switch back on and regained contact with approach. At this time the pilot was on short final. He placed the flaps to the landing position and continued to land without checking to make sure the gear was down. The aircraft landed in the gear up position resulting in damage to both props and the landing gear doors.

As the FAA filed it
