From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot, lone occupant, was practicing touch and go?s on runway 18. The aircraft bounced on landing. The nose pitched up and down and the aircraft landed hard on the nose gear and veered to the right. The aircraft came to rest on the runway.

On scene inspection of aircraft found the nose gear was pushed aft, bending the gear mount tubes, denting and buckling the lower firewall. The steering rod ends were broken. The scissor links punctured the lower skin aft of the firewall. The nose tire separated from the wheel and the wheel halves separated and fractured. The propeller tips were bent indicating the engine had power.
