From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was out of annual since April 2016. Pilot was ground running the aircraft to prepare it for a ferry flight to a shop for an annual inspection. Pilot was doing highspeed taxi's to check power of engine. Pilot could not slow down enough to stop aircraft from running through a barb wire fence at the end of his gravel runway. Pilot tried to turn left off the runway but was unable to avoid running into the fence. Pilot changed direct from a 136 heading to 101 heading approxamitely. Engine was shut off prior to running through fence. Only 1 prop blade had scratch marks from the fence. The wire collapsed the nose wheel allowing the aircraft to rest on the spinner.
