From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft N87RY departed Savannah/Hilton Head intl airport (ksav) at approximately 08:30 en-route to cobb county intl airport-mccollum field (kryy). During climb out the pilot declared an emergency with a loss of engine. The controller tried to guide the aircraft to GA35, cypress lakes and lost radar at 300 feet. Aircraft was found in a swampy heavily wooded area in Ellabell, GA at 32.238N and 81.439W. It is believed that the pilot was trying to land in a field and got to low due to engine loss of power and clipped the trees and impacted the ground in a steep nose down attitude. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot and both passengers were fatally wounded due to impact.
