What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
While in the non-movement area of a taxiway near aircraft hangers, the PIC stated that after he started the engine of N91MH, the engine immediately went to a high engine RPM. He reported that the aircraft started to move forward and increase taxi speed. The PIC states that he was unable to reduce the engine throttle. The left wingtip of the aircraft contacted the door of a hangar. The PIC states that when he went to apply the aircraft brakes, the right brake failed. The aircraft made an immediate left turn and the propeller of the aircraft struck the hanger door. The engine stopped after contact. Inspection of the aircraft shows that the right brake line broke at the brake caliper attachment point. The aircraft sustained minor damage. There is damage to two of the three composite propeller blades, the composite prop spinner and the left wingtip. There was also damage to the hanger door. There was no damage to any structural component of the aircraft.
