From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was flying at a cruise altitude of 11,500 MSL when the oil pressure dropped from the mid 40'S to 30 PSI. The pilots turned back towards Blythe (kblh) as the oil pressure continued to drop while all other engine indications remained the same. The oil pressure dropped below 10 PSI and the pilot pulled the power back below 55%. At this point the oil pressure dropped below 5 % and they lost engine power completely. They notified la center and declared an emergency and pulled the emergency parachute. The aircraft made a decent at approximately 1500 fpm. The aircraft made a hard landing in a field near Blythe Airport. This report may be amended upon completion of the engine teardown.
