From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 8, 2017 at 1300 eastern standard time, a Progressive aerodyne, inc. Searey Lsa, N784SR registered to and operated by a private pilot, received no damage during an inadvertent gear-up landing at Beaver Island Airport (sjx) Beaver Island, Michigan. Visual meteorological conditions and light winds prevailed at the time of the incident. The personal flight was being conducted under the provisions of title 14 code of federal regulations (CFR) part 91 without a flight plan. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The local flight originated from the Beaver Island Airport at approximately 1220L.

According to the pilot he was landing and ?just forgot to lower the gear?. The pilot did state there was other traffic in the pattern he was paying close attention to and this may have been a distraction. The pilot received assistance from airport employees and by-standers and was able to lower the gear and inspect the airframe. No damage could be found due to the keel guard that was installed to the hull of the aircraft. The pilot stated following a detailed visual inspection of the aircraft he would be flying it home to hastings, Michigan the following day.
