From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft N330DS, departed kgyy for kdpa at about 14:00. During take off roll. The pilot thought he hit something on the runway with the nose wheel. Pilot contacted the gary tower to take a look for anything wrong with the airplane as it flew by. Tower personnel stated that everything looked normal. Pilot decided to continue to kdpa with the gear down. Pilot contacted the Dupage tower and asked them to take a look at the nose wheel before landing. They stated that the nose wheel might be dammaged but was present. As the airplane landed at 14:42, the nose wheel shook a little when touching down then fell off as aircraft came to a stop.
