From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman was conducting a VFR flight from kgkt to kecp. Upon arrival at kecp, ATIS was reporting winds of 010 at 13 gusting to 17. The aircraft was cleared to land on runway 34. Airman reports that, during the flare, the aircraft began drifting left and pilot attempted to correct with right aileron and right rudder. Airman touched down on main wheels. Right wing suddenly lifted, possibly due to gusting winds. Left wing tip touched and dragged on the runway. Pilot states that dragging wing tip also caused the nose to go over and aircraft flipped over the nose cone onto its back.

As the FAA filed it
