From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 18, 2017 at approximately 11:00AM. Pilot made a takeoff on runway 20 at Bladenboro Airport (3W6), then made a circle around the airfield and made an approach to runway 2 at Bladenboro Airport. While on final for runway 2 at approximately 200 feet AGL pilot decided to go around and land on runway 20. As pilot was flying on downwind leg parallel to runway the engine lost power. Pilot tried to establish a glide back to runway 20 but plane was rapidly losing altitude and could not make it to airfield and had to put it down in a small clearing.
