From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was enroute from addison airport (kads) addison, Texas to Georgetown airport (kgtu) Georgetown, Texas. Pilot and co-pilot were on final approach to runway 36 setting up for landing in fog and rainy conditions (IMC) with a slight crosswind.

Pilot asked co-pilot to call out altitudes for approach descent. Visability was very low at time aircraft was over runway. Pilot stated runway became visible just prior to touchdown when pilot noticed aircraft was to right of centerline. Pilot attempted to make a left correction and then to right to realign. Landing was very hard onto runway causing aircraft right main landing gear to fail and collapse. Aircraft skidded approximatly 1000 feet to its final resting point in the grass to the right side of runway.

Aircraft sustained heavy damage to right main landing gear actuator and strut assembly. Other damage included right wing tip, right engine propeller blades, right side foward kinnard, left wing tip. Right side ventral fin had slight damage. There was no post crash fire. No injury to flight crew.

As the FAA filed it
