From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While on final approach to sbd airport and two miles out PIC noted that left main landing gear did not indicate down and locked. A San Bernardino county sheriff?s helicopter was near so they flew next to N222AT and verified left main gear not safe. PIC performed several go around patterns to burn off fuel and at 20:14 performed landing. On touch down aircraft stayed level until aircraft slowed down and tilted to the left. Left gear collapsed and the aircraft turned hard left, left wing collided with runway light and aircraft skidded to stop on left side of runway.
