From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 1, 2018 at approximately 1900 CST, a Cessna 208B caravan, aircraft registration number N1037N, at will rogers world airport (okc) struck a taxiway sign while attempting to exit the runway for taxiway alpha. Runway conditions were clear and dry and all runway lighting was operational in the vicinity of the incident. The aircraft had initially landed on rwy 13 with intentions of exiting the runway at twy alpha but overshot the exit. ATC then authorized a 180 degree turn on the runway with instructions to return to twy alpha and exit the runway there. While returning to twy alpha, the pilot once again inadvertently overshot the twy alpha exit but this time departed the rwy by executing a right turn into the grass area adjacent to rwy 13/31 and twy alpha in an attempt to enter twy alpha. The aircraft propeller then struck a taxiway sign in the grass area and the aircraft continued on entering twy alpha. After parking the aircraft at the aar FBO parking ramp, visual inspection of the aircraft revealed prop strike damage to the propeller with no evident damage to the aircraft structure or landing gear. Airport operations was notified of the incident and reported the airport taxiway sign was destroyed...
