From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 14, 2018 the aircraft departed Pickaway County Memorial Airport on a maintenance test flight to check engine parameters. Returning to the airport the main wheels extended normally but the pilot was not able to get the nose gear to extend. Both normal and emergency procedures were used several times in an attempt to get nose gear to extend without any success. The pilot elected to make an emergency landing with the main wheels down and locked resulting in only minor aircraft damage. The pilot and passenger were uninjured. After picking the aircraft up the nose wheel extended normally and locked into place. Damage noted during investigation was limited to propeller, front gear doors and engine exhaust. It was also noted that the hydraulic reservoir was over full.
