From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed ktcl, tuscaloosa, al enroute to kcwf, lake charles, LA to bring passenger. Pilot stated all ops were normal until approaching destination when engine stopped. Pilot attempted to restart engine and when unsuccessful, made emergency landing in field.

When ASI arrived on scene the next day, there was no fuel in the left tank and only a very small amount that they could hear sloshing in the right tank. Ten gallons of fuel were brought to and put in the airplane and the engine ran fine.

The ASI also noted that there was no current registration or airworthiness certificate onboard.
