From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft N261B, model, Beech D-50 landing gear collapsed after landing on rwy 36 at Tallahassee airport (tlh). Pilot was cleared to land on rwy 27 but elected to go around due to bad approach to rwy 27. The tower told the pilot to join the left downwind for rwy 36. About the time the pilot crossed the centerline of rwy 36, he began to smell an acrid smoke. The pilot made a quick turn onto the downwind to 36 and actuated the landing gear. As he continued the turn to join the centerline of rwy 36 the smoke grew worse. After touch down on rwy 36 the gear collapsed and propellers impacted the runway. Pilot contacted the tower and advised them that he got a gear up landing. Pilot turned off all the power and exited the aircraft.
