From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot and passenger were hunting wild hogs on private land. Pilot landed aircraft near abandoned farm house. Pilot and passenger took back off from remote location. When the helicopter was approximately 40 feet off the ground the passenger got the butt of his rifle into the cyclic and pitched the helicopter forward. Pilot stated he yelled at the passenger to move the rifle. The passenger froze up when he saw the helicopter going down. Helicopter impacted the ground, rolled over then came to rest upright. The main rotor blades struck the ground and bent back. Tail boom broke off and tail rotor gear box separated from boom. All windows busted out during roll over. Fuselage bent, skids separated from helicopter. Instrument panel broke from mounts.
