From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Students first attempt at landing resulted with a go around. Student stated that she previously had a difficult time determining where to begin her round out and flare during numerous landings. Her second attempt at landing on runway 25R had a left crosswind 200/10 KTS. Student stated that during her round out there was a gust of wind. She began drifting to the left of the runway center line and applied right aileron to prevent going off the runway.

Discussed the event in length with both the student and her primary ip placing emphasis on stabilized approaches and loss of control during landing prevention. Aviation safety recommends that the student conducts a flight standard evaluation reviewing proper landing techniques and when to go around.
