What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On March 3, 2018, at about 1230 PST, a Just Aircraft LLC operated under FAR part 91 flew from eagles nest, Oregon (OR65) to Chehalis, Washington (cls) and proceeded to land at runway 34 at Chehalis-Centralia Airport. PIC stated that he intended to fly a straight-in approach on runway 34 and in an effort to educate his friend on how to perform an approach and landing maneuver, he placed her hand along with his on the stick and throttle during landing. According to the information obtained from the eyewitness, a Cessna 152 came in ahead of N419SD and observed that it had trouble holding the wings level on final approach at approximately 100 feet before touchdown. About 2 minutes later N419SD was observed on final approach, the eyewitness also observed that the aircraft is having trouble holding the wings level in the same area with wing banks as high as 30 degrees. The pilot never regained a stable approach and appears to be too slow. The aircraft stalled before landing and bounced approximately 3 feet. At the bounce, the wheels did not contact the ground at the same time, the right gear contacted the ground and immediately the left wingtip was up at approximately 45 degree angle. The aircraft began to ground loop to the right and the right wingtip contacted the ground, and the entire aircraft cantilevered up and then came down on the right landing gear collapsing the right gear. The eyewitness observed that the engine was still running and propeller was operating normally. Aircraft rested on the runway facing east. No injuries were reported.
