From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 5 March 2018, pilot and passenger decided to practice landings for about 30 minutes around btf. They decided to go sightseeing. About 20 miles north of bountiful Utah the engine started experiencing power surges and lose of power. The pilot immediately starting looking for a place to land. There was a lot of marshes in the area, but they found a dirt road and decided to land there. They touched down safely and started to slow the aircraft. At that time the aircraft left wheel hit a berm of mud and the aircraft flipped over. Pilot and passenger exited the aircraft, both were unhurt. When the aircraft flipped over the left wing was bent severely over a dirt embankment. The rudder was also broken off of the tail.
