From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 01, 2018 at approximately 1845 hrs, CFI ^cassidy clark^ was taxiing to the runup area (done prior to departure), at Newnan Coweta County Airport (kcco)in N55482 a Cessna 172. As he approached the runup area he saw that there was another airplane there doing a runup. ^Mr. Clark^ steered his airplane to the right of the tarmac to get around the airplane doing their runup. In doing so, the right wing of the Cessna struck a metal pole that housed an emergency shut off switch for a fuel tank that was located about 20 yards to the right of that pole. The strike was about 12 inches inboard from the wingtip. The strike caused considerable damage to the Cessna's wing. No visible damage was caused to the metal pole. ^cassidy clark^ (pilot) ^telephone number: 703-945-0110^.
