What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft attempted to land on runway 15. Wind according to on board instrumentation was 080 at 11 gusting to 18. Pilot also stated that wind according to local AWOS was 110 at 11 gusting to 18. An eyewitness stated that N166HJ did not touch down until the mid point of runway 15. The skid mark on the runway shows that only the left main landing gear had locked. The aircraft departed the left side of runway 15 and skidded across the grass between the runway and taxiway digging furrows in the grass. The right main landing gear contacted the edge of the taxiway breaking the wheel and the seal in the landing gear strut. The aircraft skidded across the taxiway and continued on through the grassy area between the taxiway and the ramp area. The aircraft came to a stop on the ramp and the pilot added power and taxied to the fuel pumps. The pilot noted that he had to apply more power than normal to taxi. The pilot shut down the aircraft and exited to see the damage to the aircraft and took photographs of the aircraft, the runway, the grassy areas, the taxiway, and the ramp area
