From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 29, 2018, at approximately 1350 hours (PDT), N6261P, a Piper PA-24-250, was performing touch and go landings at Sacramento Mather Airport (kmhr). The personal flight was conducted under 14CFR 91. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed.

The private pilot privacy data omitted stated that he and the CFI were conducting a biennial flight review in the incident aircraft that the owner had recently purchased and that during landing he had failed to lower the landing gear. The aircraft touched down and slid approximately 150 feet down the runway. Damage to the aircraft skin was minor and there were no injuries.

The investigating inspectors found both pilots to be forthcoming and cooperative. Both pilots exhibited a constructive and compliant attitude. A search of FAA databases did not reveal previous violations, accidents, or incidents associated with either the CFI or the pilot privacy data omitted.

PIC and pilot privacy data omitted verbally counseled in accordance with cp as to strict use of check list for critical items.
