What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The UAS was in operation for an insurance damage inspection of a home. UAS was piloted from the ground and within visual line of sight when a gust of wind pushed the UAS into the home it was inspecting. The rotor blades struck the house causing damage to the siding. Damage caused was valued over $500. UAS experienced only minor damage and was recovered. Operator did not expect the turbulant air around the roof and has now set a personal limit for operating in the wind.
