From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was returning to S21 after a local flight on 05-30-2018. PIC reports that while on downwind for runway 36, another aircraft advised him of gusty conditions at the airport. During landing flare, PIC reports that gusty conditions caused him to land hard and bounce back into the air. After a second bounce, PIC reports that he initiated a go-around but that gusty conditions prevent a successful transition to flight. Aircraft exited the runway and went through a barbed-wire fence before coming to a stop in a field. PIC was the sole person on board and was not injured. Aircraft suffered minor damage to the right wingtip, right wing leading edge, and right gear door.
