From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot rated passenger stated they were landing on runway 06 at Spruce Creek 7FL6 and when several feet above ground the aircraft stalled and landed hard breaking the left main landing gear. The pilot attempted to apply power to go around or salvage the landing but was unsuccessful due to left wing striking the ground. Aircraft slid off runway striking the approach lights, continued to slide, flipped over and caught fire. Pilot and passenger were unable to extract themselves from the aircraft and needed assistance in opening the aircraft canopy. Both pilot and passenger were extracted from the wrekage and were transported to the hospital. Pilot suffered serious injuries and passed away one week later.
