From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 13, 2018, N12064 a CE-172 was involved in an accident at clermont county airport (I69) during landing. The flight was conducted by a student pilot during a solo flight. During a landing on runway 22 the aircraft initially touched down, but due to excessive speed, bounced approximately ten feet back into the air. The pilot proceeded to push forward on the yoke to prevent the aircraft from bouncing. This resulted in the nose wheel striking the runway prior to the main wheels. According to the pilot, the aircraft bounced a couple more times before coming to a stop on the runway and pulling off on the taxiway. The pilot then elected to taxi back to the runway for another takeoff and landing. According to observers, the second landing was ?hard?. The pilot taxied to the parking spot and shut down. While securing the aircraft the pilot noticed damage to the propeller and buckling of the underside of the fuselage as well as nose gear damage.
