From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This was the first flight of the day, according to the dom there were no open MEL write ups on the acft. The schedule departure was 18OO and there was a delay due to passengers only. The acft was flying from teb to fll on a revneue flight to fll. At approx 40K' the RH windshield spider cracked severely. The crew stated the glass cracked like it would if it was struck by an object, but knew objects were unlikely at the given altitude. The acft diverted to jax and landed safely. The passengers deplaned normally. The window was removed and replaced and the dom stated there was no evidence that the window had any leaks or improper maintenance was involved. The log book entry reflects the corrective action (remove/replace RH window) was completed on 07/18/2018. There were no window heat issues prior to flight, or during flight or any other deferred or related issues to the window or window seal. The cracked window was originally installed on April 7, 2017 and the dom indicated it is under a 2 year warranty and he contacted ppg for analysis on the window. I notified applicable pmi, poi by email. Chdo will follow with routine cass report/review.
