From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 3, 2018 at approximately 1137 local time, an embrarer 145 aircraft, operated by expressjet, at Newark international airport located at gate 26X, was being pushed back from the gate and struck a catering truck parked behind the aircraft. The force of the collision caused the truck to end up on it's side. No reported injuries to passengers or crew. Passengers deplaned normally, and the catering truck driver sustained minor injuries. When we arrived at the scene, we observed damage to the aircraft APU cowling, and bottom portion of the rudder. Expressjet maintenance removed the cowling and no visible damage was noticed on the APU and mounts.
